Monkton Bluefriars

Training | Head Races | Regattas

This event has a website.

There is a Google map for this event.

In 2013 Monkton crews will be getting into their boats at the University of London boat club, and getting out of their boats at London rowing club. Supporters are advised not to try to go to either of these two locations to see the crews, but to watch the race from elsewhere along the course.

Arrangements at St Paul's
Arrive at Lonsdale Road entrance (see map), and park as directed.

Arrangements at London RC
London rowing club is on the embankment at Putney. THERE IS NO ACCESS BY CAR TO THIS AREA ON RACE DAYS. If you want to support crews near the embankment, Park somewhere else, or get a bus to Putney Bridge or tube to Putney Bridge station. The finish of the race is just upstream of the bridge, so you can walk up towards Hammersmith to get a good view of the race.

Arrangements at University of London BC
ULBC is at 81 Hartington Road W4 3TU. there is the little room for parking and Monkton crews will be there for any short time before getting on the water. The boathouse is upstream of the start, and you will not see racing from the boathouse area. If you want to support Monkton crews it is best to park away from the course and get public transport to Putney Bridge or Barnes Bridge railway station (not Barnes Railway Station), and then walk along the course which starts at Chiswick Bridge and ends just upstream of Putney Bridge.

Arrangements at Barnes
NB (2003) Parking on the North side of the river is far more restricted than is customary, because the local council have imposed 'No Parking' rules on the grass. You may have to find a side road to park in, then WALK!
